Security Fencing

Perimeter fencing built to control who and what gets on and off a property.

A different job than a backyard fence

A security fence isn't about privacy or curb appeal first. It's about a continuous perimeter with no easy places to climb, sightlines that work with your lighting and cameras, and gates you can actually control. Shops, storage yards, equipment lots, job sites, churches, and schools around Magnolia and the FM 1488 and SH 249 corridors usually need a different spec than a home.

Every site is different, so we walk the property line with you first. Byron Dean, our General Manager, typically confirms measurements, access points, and any existing security features before we recommend a spec.

  • Typical height: 6 to 8 ft, taller for higher-security sites
  • Tops: flat, spear-top, angled, or barbed-wire arms
  • Access: manual or automatic swing and slide gates, with keypad, card, or call-box entry

Security fencing materials

Commercial chain link

Heavier-gauge fabric and stronger posts than residential chain link, with privacy slats where you need to block the view.

Steel

Welded steel panels and spear-top ornamental steel for a strong, defined perimeter, finished to resist rust in our humidity.

Ornamental metal →

Aluminum

A lighter, low-maintenance option that still gives a clear, visible boundary for offices and storefronts.

Design details

  • Anti-climb tops matched to the site, from spear-top steel to angled or barbed-wire arms on chain link
  • Mesh size and wire gauge chosen for what the fence needs to resist
  • Privacy slats or solid panels where blocking sightlines matters
  • Black or bronze finishes on steel and aluminum
  • Swing gates for standard openings and slide gates for wide ones
  • Concrete footings sized for the height and wind exposure of the run
  • Coordination with fire department and emergency-access needs on gated sites

Gates are the weak point

An otherwise solid perimeter is only as good as its gates. Where a site calls for it, we pair security fencing with real access control instead of a simple latch: automatic operators, keypads, card readers, or call boxes. See gates & gate openers.

Homes and acreage, too

The same ideas work at home: taller fence lines, solid panels, and controlled gates around pools, equipment yards, and rural properties. Pool barriers have their own requirements; see pool enclosures.

Security fencing questions

What height is right for commercial security?

Six to eight feet is typical for a commercial perimeter, but the right height depends on what you're protecting and local rules. We'll walk the site before recommending a spec.

Can the gates have keypad or card access?

Yes. We install swing and slide operators with keypad, card, remote, or call-box access.

Do I need a permit for commercial fencing?

Commercial projects are more likely to need one, and requirements differ between the City of Magnolia, the City of Montgomery, and unincorporated county. We confirm what applies to your site before we quote.
