Pool Enclosure Fences

Safer pool areas with fencing and gates built around code and HOA requirements.

What it looks like

A pool enclosure fence surrounds the pool area to keep children and pets out when no one is watching. Most are ornamental aluminum or steel, so the pool stays visible from the house and the fence doesn't block the view of the yard, lake, or golf course beyond it.

Pool barriers are usually at least four feet tall, with vertical pickets spaced closely enough that a small child can't slip through, and gates that close and latch on their own. The exact requirements depend on your local code, your HOA, and sometimes your insurer, so we confirm what applies to your property before we build.

  • Privacy level: Low privacy, high visibility
  • Typical height: 4 ft minimum typical; 5 ft common

Materials it's built in

Ornamental Steel & Aluminum

Aluminum is the top choice around pools because it won't rust from splash and pool chemicals.

Acreage or subdivision lot?

On acreage

On acreage, a pool enclosure is often the only fence close to the house, so it's worth choosing a style that also looks good as a yard fence.

On subdivision lots

On subdivision, golf-course, and lakefront lots, pool fences are usually ornamental metal to keep views open. If your property has HOA or deed restrictions, check with your board on style and color.

Good to know

  • Self-closing, self-latching gates are the most important part of a pool fence.
  • Gates swing away from the pool and latch out of a small child's reach.
  • We request Texas 811 utility locates before any digging.
  • Aluminum resists the rust that pool chemicals and splash can cause.
