Wood & Cedar Fencing — Magnolia, TX
Look. Wood is the fence most people picture when they think of a backyard, and for good reason. Cedar has a warm, reddish tone that settles into a soft silver if you leave it alone, while pressure-treated pine is a little more utilitarian and takes stain well. Both can be built side-by-side, board-on-board for full privacy, or shadowbox so both neighbors get a finished face. Add a top cap and trim board and a plain privacy fence starts to look custom.
Upkeep. In our climate, wood needs a little attention to reach its full life. We recommend a penetrating stain or sealer within the first few months, then every few years after that, to slow moisture damage and graying. Keeping sprinklers off the boards and leaves off the bottom rail helps too. Individual pickets are easy and inexpensive to replace if one gets damaged.
Cost. Wood is a mid-range choice — more than chain link, generally less than vinyl, composite, or ornamental metal. Pine is the budget end; cedar costs more up front but resists rot and insects better on its own. Post choice, fence height, and style (board-on-board uses more lumber) all move the price, and we spell each of those out in your written quote.
