Fence Staining, Painting & Power Washing

A faded, dirty, or graying wood fence usually needs a cleaning and a fresh finish, not a replacement.

Refinishing costs far less than replacing

If your posts are solid and the boards are sound, cleaning and refinishing a wood fence brings it back for a fraction of the cost of a new one. We offer staining, painting, and standalone power washing for wood fences around Magnolia, Pinehurst, Montgomery, and Lake Conroe.

Staining

Semi-transparent stains add color and let the grain show. Solid stains cover the wood fully and hide more wear.

Painting

The most opaque coverage in any color, though paint on an exterior fence tends to peel or crack sooner than a solid stain.

Power washing

Removes dirt, mildew, and algae. It's a standalone service and the first step of every stain or paint job.

Why our weather is hard on wood

Strong sun breaks down wood fibers and fades color. Humidity and heavy rain drive moisture in and out of the boards over and over, which leads to graying, splitting, and cupping, and the damp encourages mildew and algae. A quality stain or paint with UV blockers and a water repellent slows all of that down. Left unfinished, cedar and pine gray out and get more prone to splintering within a few years here.

How the job goes

  1. Wash and prep

Power washing removes dirt, mildew, and failing old finish. We wire-brush and lightly sand rough or splintered spots.

  2. Let it dry

Wood has to dry fully before stain or paint goes on, which can take longer during humid stretches.

  3. Stain, paint, or seal

We apply the finish you chose for the look and coverage you want.

Staining and power washing questions

How often should I refinish my wood fence?

It depends on sun, rain, and the last product used. In our climate most cedar and pine fences hold up for roughly 2 to 4 years between refinishing, and runs with full south or west sun fade faster than shaded ones.

Should I stain or paint?

Most people who want full coverage choose a solid stain over paint, because paint tends to peel or crack sooner outdoors. Semi-transparent stain is the pick if you want the grain to show.

Does my HOA have to approve a stain color?

Many deed-restricted neighborhoods specify approved stain colors. Check your guidelines, and we'll match the approved color.

My fence needs more than a refinish. What then?

If posts are leaning or boards are rotted, fix the structure first. See maintenance & repair.
